Auslan development classes. Introducing people to the Australian Deaf community and its language, Auslan. These Auslan courses will be tailor-made to the group's specific requirements. SLSA will work in collaboration with Deaf Australlia to provide Auslan instruction.
Deafness Awareness Training
Specially developed programs of instruction for government and non-government organisations employing deaf and/or hearing impaired personnel. These courses cover cross-cultural issues specific to the workplace with suggested strategies as to how such challenges may be dealt with successfully.
Deaf Community Members
Workshops and seminars will continue to be provided by SLSA to meet demands/needs identified by the deaf community.
Deaf Interpreters
SLSA will continue to arrange appropriate training for deaf interpreters as part of it's commitment to the provision of quality interpreting services. Deaf relay interpreting is an integral part of the services provided by SLSA.
Interpreters - Professional Development workshops/seminars
SLSA is committed to providing a diverse range of professional development opportunities for interpreters at various levels of competence. This is in line with NAATI's revalidation policy for all NAATI accredited interpreters. All trainers/facilitators employed by SLSA are experienced trainers and/or practitioners who have the expertise to enhance the linguistic and practical skills of SLSA contractors.
